First Week of QPEP

This week was the first week of QPEP and it proved to be quite interesting. There are about 60 MBA1s with very different backgrounds. We attend class from 9am-12pm and then work on problem sets from 1-3pm with an optional review session with our TA, a PhD student. The program is a good refresher of all of the stuff that I've never been able to retain (i.e. probabilities, logarithms, etc.)Some of the problems are quite difficult, but my study group does a good job of working through them and helping others when need it.

Overall, the people are really cool and interesting. You wouldn't believe some of the backgrounds and accomplishments of my classmates, and this is only 15% of the class.

Palo Alto is a nice city, but everything closes early, except a few night clubs. My roommate and I did a little exploring and drove to San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley. We took the scenic route on 280 and was blown away by the mountains and scenery. We took a few detours off the expressway to explore some really pretty areas. It blows me away that I'm in California and fortunate enough to have this opportunity.
